Tell us the plan and we’ll quietly handle the rest
Date, surprise plan, photographer needed or not — we coordinate boat, captain timing, and champagne so nothing goes wrong.
One shot. Make it the one she’ll remember. Private boat, sunset over the Opera House, room for 2 or 12. From $400/hr, 2-3 hours.
A proposal on Sydney Harbour at sunset — done well — is the photo and memory you’ll both keep for life. Done badly (cruise ship full of strangers, blocked views, the moment ruined by a microphone announcement) it’s a regret. A private boat removes every variable: just the two of you (or surprise family hidden below), the harbour, the captain who knows where the light hits the Opera House at exactly the right minute.
From a $400/hr 2-hour intimate sunset for two on a sports cruiser, to a $1,500/hr surprise proposal cruise for 8 with hidden family — Boatique books the full fleet. We coordinate timing, champagne, and (if you want) a discreet photographer. Quotes back in under an hour.
Proposal cruises need three things: a perfect view, intimate scale, and the right captain who knows when to hold a course. We’ve quietly coordinated dozens of these — most for 2-4 guests on a small luxury motoryacht or a sailing yacht.
Send your date and surprise plan — we’ll shortlist 2-3 boats with timing recommendations.

No other diners, no jet skis cutting past, no construction noise. Just you, them, and the harbour.
Captain times the cruise so you’re in the perfect spot for the moment. Most likely location: the south side of Shark Island at golden hour.
We can coordinate a discreet photographer to be on the boat — they’ll be invisible until after she says yes. Photos for life.
Chilled champagne, ring concealed, room for surprise family below decks if you want a bigger reveal afterwards. Everything pre-planned, nothing left to chance.
Proposal cruises are smaller and shorter than dinner cruises — typically 2-3 hours, often just 2-4 guests. The honest pricing answer: a 2-hour sunset proposal cruise for 2 guests on a sports cruiser with chilled champagne usually lands around $1,000–1,500 all-in. Add a photographer and chef for around $800-1,500 extra.
Tell us your plan in the enquiry — surprise vs known, just-the-two-of-you vs hidden family, photographer needed or not — and we’ll quote a fully-coordinated package.
Sports cruiser or small luxury yacht. You and your partner only. Captain stays minimal. Champagne we provide.
Same boat, plus a discreet photographer hidden on board until after the moment. They capture the proposal naturally, then a post-yes photoshoot at golden hour.
Family hidden in the saloon. After she says yes, the captain announces, family emerges, champagne for everyone. Plated dinner usually follows. Coordinated end-to-end.
Date, surprise plan, photographer needed or not — we coordinate boat, captain timing, and champagne so nothing goes wrong.

Sunset cruise off Shark Island. Photographer hidden on board. She said yes.

Twilight cruise, fairy lights pre-rigged, harbour lights perfect timing.
For a couple celebrating their 10th together with a re-proposal. Full chef dinner, sunset, photographer, champagne.

Nail the moment with proposal ideas on a boat, set the scene via the sunset sail guide, then celebrate at your engagement party on the water.
Very. Most of our captains have done dozens of these. They stay out of sight for the moment, time the boat’s position so you’re in the perfect light, and step in only if you need them.
Yes — we coordinate with our partner photographers. They board with you (introduced as a friend or just quiet), capture the proposal from a discreet angle, then do a post-yes photoshoot at golden hour. Usually +$800-1,200 to the package.
Yes — this is one of our most-booked proposal formats. Family boards before you, stays hidden in the saloon during the proposal, then emerges to celebrate.
We work it backwards from sunset. Boarding 60-90 minutes before sunset puts you in the perfect light for the moment, plus 30 minutes after for post-yes photos.
Yes — we’ve coordinated dozens of surprise proposals. We communicate with you only (not your partner), confirm timing via your preferred channel, and the captain plays along on the day.
Champagne yes (we recommend a specific bottle pre-chilled and ready). Ring is on you. Setup (rose petals, decorations, music) — we can arrange but most couples prefer to keep it simple. We can talk you through what works.
Honestly, this is the only event type where we’d recommend rescheduling if there’s rain forecast. Each operator has a wet-weather reschedule policy — we always flag for proposal cruises so you have the option to move it without losing money.
Pickup wharves vary by boat. Rose Bay and Sydney Marina are the most common — central, walkable, easy to arrive discreetly. Tell us your preferred wharf.
Tell us the date, your surprise plan, and what you want coordinated — we’ll quote a full package and handle the timing.
