Coral Trekker is a genuine 1939 square-rigged ketch chartering on Sydney Harbour for up to 36 guests — the smallest and most intimate of three sister tall ships in the same small fleet. Her keel was laid in 1939, delayed by the Second World War, and she later became one of the only vessels able to reach the sinking passenger ferry Wahine, saving many lives. She carries a fully licensed bar and seating on the upper deck, with professional crew included. From $805 per hour with just a 2-hour minimum, she suits sailing charters, intimate corporate functions, school formals and function events looking for real maritime history without a big-group boat.

𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐤𝐞𝐫 is a genuine square-rigged ketch chartering on Sydney Harbour for up to 36 guests — the smallest and most intimate of three sister ships, with a working history as colourful as her distinctive rusty-red sails. Her keel was laid in 1939, but construction was delayed by the Second World War; when she finally launched, the Norwegian adventurer who wrote the book “Ho Ho” sailed her to New Zealand, where she was sold into the fishing industry. That heritage — real timber decks, genuine square-rigged canvas overhead, a real ship's story — is what sets her apart from every motor yacht on the harbour, and makes her the natural pick for sailing charters, corporate functions, school formals and function events that want something more intimate and story-rich than a big-group boat.

Soundly built, Coral Trekker was one of the only vessels able to reach the passenger ferry Wahine after she sank in heavy weather off New Zealand, saving many lives — a bay in the Snares Islands off the NZ coast, “Ho Ho 2”, was named in recognition of her heroism. She was later refitted by Australian Himalayan Expeditions as a square-rigged ketch in preparation for the First Fleet Re-enactment Voyage and renamed Coral Trekker, spending 25 years chartering in the Whitsundays before moving to Sydney Harbour. Onboard she carries a fully licensed bar and seating on the upper deck — unlike her larger sisters Soren Larsen and Southern Swan, which seat guests on both upper and lower decks, Coral Trekker's single-deck layout keeps the whole group together in one space rather than spread out below, making her especially well suited to smaller, more intimate charters.

Coral Trekker charters from $805 per hour in low season (Jun–Aug), rising to $977.50/hour in shoulder season (Apr–May, Sep–Oct) and $1,150/hour in peak season (Nov–Mar), with a 2-hour minimum charter — shorter than the usual 4-hour minimum on most Boatique boats. Public holidays carry Boatique's standard 20% surcharge; New Year's Eve pricing is quoted directly by the operator. Drinks run through the vessel's own licensed bar rather than BYO, and catering menus from finger food through to a full Tallship Menu are available (the pirate party games & treasure hunt add-on isn't offered on Coral Trekker, unlike her sister ships). Coral Trekker is part of a small, family-owned, Australian-owned fleet based at Campbells Cove, The Rocks, alongside sister ships Soren Larsen and Southern Swan.
